sewing for a cause

Cardif Collective is making its classroom and work area available on the third Tuesday of every month for sewers to get together and make drainage bags for Bosom Buddies. The bags are used by women after breast cancer surgery. Currently, Bosom Buddies needs around 500 of these bags a year and the need is growing.

There is space available at Cardif for 8 machines to be set up and we will also be able to use the lovely big cutting tables. Indi Wrigley will be helping to co-ordinate this sewing group and will bring her overlocker along for people to use but participants will be asked to bring their own machines and sewing tools and supplies.

The first meeting of this new group will be on Tuesday 20 June at 10.30am at Cardif Collective. Cardif is located in Kingston on Level 1, Cusack’s Centre, 27 Eyre St, Kingston. You can enter via the lift entrance (through the “Bikram Yoga” doors in Highgate Lane) or up the stairs in the arcade off Eyre St.
