Our Team

Management Committee 

Our Management Committee boasts diversity, featuring breast cancer survivors and individuals from various professional backgrounds. Each member shares a passion for ensuring Bosom Buddies' ongoing ability to support the community for years to come.

The team comprises four (4) Office Bearers and five (5) ordinary members who work closely with the Executive Officer who provides regular reports on the status of our programs and the general business of the organisation.

A new team was appointed at the Annual General Meeting held at Pearce Community Centre in the ACT on 4th December 2025.

The next Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, 19 November 2026 at 5:00pm at the Pearce Community Centre in the ACT.

Heather Jackson
President

Heather Jackson

Heather has had a varied career in the public and not for profit sectors and has volunteered for many organisations over the last 30 years. She holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and offers strong expertise in leadership, strategy, human resource management and accounting to assist in the oversight of Bosom Buddies' management. As a breast cancer survivor, Heather is honoured to be part of Bosom Buddies, on the committee and also as part of the support team.
Narelle Sargent
Vice President

Narelle Sargent

Narelle is deeply committed to creating positive change through collaboration and connection. She brings over 20 years of experience as a pro-bono Board Director, alongside extensive experience across government, private, and not-for-profit sectors in ACT and NSW. Narelle offers strong expertise in leadership, strategy, governance, legal and compliance, risk management, and accountability, with a proven record of innovation and advocacy.
Jacklyn-Ersan
Treasurer

Jacklyn Ersan

Jacklyn is a Chartered Accountant and Manager at Nexis Accountants and Business Advisors with 8 years' experience in taxation, compliance and not-for-profit reporting. She brings analytical rigour, financial governance experience, and community commitment to her role as Treasurer of Bosom Buddies, ensuring sound oversight and stewardship of funds to support the charity's mission.

Kim Stewart
Public Officer

Kim Stewart

Kim Stewart has a Master of Transport Management Degree from Sydney University and is an international transport and logistics specialist. Kim started volunteering in the 1970s and is passionate about the mental and physical wellbeing particularly of young women and girls. Amongst other roles, Kim is a global mentor for women with Metaplastic Breast Cancer and a support member with Bosom Buddies. Kim has also served on various academic and private boards. Kim’s own experiences with breast cancer - Metaplastic in 2012 and Triple Negative IDC in 2020 - is an invaluable background to assist, mentor & guide others. She is excited about her role as a committee member with Bosom Buddies and the challenges ahead.

Shantanu is an enterprise architect and has over eighteen years of executive and board-level experience across the public and commercial sectors.
Gill Curl

Gillian King

Gill is a breast cancer survivor who has benefited from Bosom Buddies support and is now giving back. She draws on extensive experience in public and civil society organisations in areas as diverse as science, policy, advocacy, project management, community organizing, and now coaching. She is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Leanne Fisher

Leanne dedicated 40 years to early childhood education, working as a teacher, centre director, and quality assurance and compliance officer. After retiring in April 2024, Leanne was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer just six weeks later and has since found the support of Bosom Buddies to be invaluable. Inspired by this experience, Leanne is passionate about giving back to the community as a Committee member and Buddy volunteer.
